is there c media cmi9880 vista driver workaround

Is there a C-Media CMI9880 Vista driver or workaround?

I have the C-Media CMI9880 codec on an Asus P5AD-2E motherboard. Vista installed a device called High Definition Audio Device. When I look at the audio devices, I see a Digital Output Device (SPDIF) and clicking properties tells me that I only have an option for a rear panel optical jack. I do not have a digital audio system and was previously using the analog jacks in XP. C-media's website doesn't seem to indicate any Vista drivers.
Does anyone have a workaround that will not cause system crashes? Or a solution? Thanks.

I have an ASUS P5GD2 Deluxe mother board and I think to remember that has de same audio codec. My audio harware was not recognized by Vista during the install but I've installed my XP drivers from the device manager and not it works great. I have all my audio working and even the autodetect jacks and control panel for the audio system works.
The only problem I've found is that mic inpuc seems very low compared to XP even at full level setting and I have many problems with voice recognition.
Regards,
Angel.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am very reluctant to use any XP drivers since my system crashed repeatedly after upgrading to Vista. I did a fresh install after formatting and Vista runs perfectly. The audio drivers were the only ones not recognized. I am using another sound card until I can find some Vista drivers.

I have your same motherboard, and i try to do like you, but Win Vista can't

install the sound device; the message is> " Windows encountrered an error installing the driver software for your device". Have you any suggestion?
